What is going on between Drake and Nicki Minaj? Although the two had since stated that their closeness is nothing more than just brother-sister love, fans of the pair saw a cute side of the rapper when a video was released of Drake taking Nicki out after taking a break from filming Usher's latest video "She Came to Give It to You," Buzzfeed said.
The video was at a convenience store, apparently in the night time, as they purchased some snacks. As the Wire recounts, the Canadian rapper first picked up Cheetos Puffs, then the rapper told the "Anaconda" singer to get whatever she wants, with Nicki coyly repeating his statement for clarity.
The two then checked out the rest of the store, with Nicki picking up "some Cheez-Its and sh**," and at times try to bring in some random people on the store into their conversation. Drake, who was feeling rich as he declares everything is on him, asked a woman across a display rack, "Your friend want something, too? You want something?"
The two Young Money stars also started to talk about their dietary concerns when Drake remarked on Nicki's concerns about her diet. "You're not supposed to eat anything at all?," he said.
Referring to her junk food, she replied, "I mean, definitely not this. But I'm just trying to see how long I can cheat."
"That's like shaving a good six months off your life," Drake said when he talked about Nicki's food choices.
She responded, "I know. But I'm not eating a lot. I'm just gonna take a tiny bit."
Nicki also showed her playful persona when she sort of reprimanded her friend for being out of the way.
When it's time to pay for their convenience store haul, Drake again insisted that he would be paying. "I got you, boo, don't worry about it."
It is to note that almost all of the time, Nicki's arm was around Drake's in a gentlemanly manner.
VH1 said that since Nicki has signed with Young Money, the two have been professing love for each other, especially in their music. In Drake's 2010 collaboration with the rapper "Up All Night," Nicki rapped, "If Drizzy say get her, I'ma get her/I got the kind of money make a broke b-tch bitter."
In Drizzy's "Miss Me," he declared, "I love Nicki Minaj/I told her I'd admit it/I hope one day we get married just to say we f-cking did it/ And girl I'm f-cking serious/ I'm with it if you with it/'cause your verses turn me on and your pants are mighty fitted."
He had the same declaration in another collaboration, "Moment 4 Life," where Drake rapped, "These other rappers getting bodied and carried away/F-ck it me and Nicki Nick getting married today/And now you b-tches that be hatin can catch the bouquet, oww/Yeah you star in my eyes/You and all them white girls, party of five."
And of course, we all now how Nicki strutted her famous behind for Drizzy on her "Anaconda" video. When MTV asked Nicki after her VMAs performance backstage about Drake's "performance" on her video, she said with some serious eye roll, "Drake, you know... he's an actor. So he did a good job of containing himself. But after the lap dance he was excited like hell. He was like, ‘Yo, do you understand like I'm the man after this video come out?'"
