Nike Kobe 9 'Bright Mango' Release Date & Price: Where to Buy?

Nike apparently is not done with August yet as the sporting apparel company is gearing up for yet another footwear release, this time for the Kobe line, now on its ninth generation.

In keeping with the summer season, a special pair of kicks in the Nike Kobe 9 lineup is named after a tropical fruit - and has a similarly vibrant colorway.

"The newest color of the Kobe 9 features an elaborate tree pattern on the Bright Mango Engineered Mesh upper, with Peach Cream and Cannon colors adding more pop," the accompanying official description for "Bright Mango" said. "The Medium Mint outsole, contrasting Kobe Sheath logo and Kobe signature complete the design."

Those of you who are loving these bright babies should make a beeline for the official Nike site in a couple of hours as these will be launched Thursday. August 28, at 8 a.m. EDT/5 a.m. PDT. This Kobe 9 model is yours for $160.

"The Kobe 9 was first introduced late last year as high shoes that pretty much resembles a boxing shoe." KpopStarz noted. "However, what makes this shoe once of a kind is the Flyknit technology that it is equipped with."

It can be recalled that the Flyknit material was first seen in various Nike running shoes in 2012. A certain manufacturing process produces this kind of material as a "one-piece engineered upper made from single strands of yarns." Do note, though, that it is the Kobe 9 Elite that has this material among the Kobe 9 models.

"The Kobe 9, both the high and low versions was seen used by different NBA players throughout the season and unfortunately not by Kobe himself who missed the entire season, only playing a few games before reinjuring himself," the site added.

It is worth noting that the "Bright Mango" is just one of a number of shoes in the Kobe 9 lineup. What makes this particular pair distinct is its bright colorway, which will surely make heads turn with its vibrant shades.
