Aside from his successful career as a musician, Kanye West is also known for his tumultuous relationship with the paparazzi. He has been photographed and reported figuring in altercations with media photographers, even going to court a number of times for such occasions.

However, it has been recently revealed by the artist himself that he doesn't really hate paps, that his scuffles with them aren't because he wants to wipe them from the face of the earth. His altercations with them is mainly due to what he feels as their invasion of his privacy, as well as the safety risks that come when they're following him around.

He also said that his own father was a shutterbug himself.

"My father was a paparazzo himself. My father was a medical illustrator, a Black Panther, a Christian marriage counselor," West said to photographer Daniel Ramos' lawyer during a civil lawsuit deposition, The Daily Mail noted.

It can be recalled that the father-of-one figured in a scuffle with Ramos back in July 2013.

"Kanye allegedly asked an 'especially aggressive' photographer not to ask him any questions upon his arrival at LAX Airport on July 19," Hollywood Life reported. "Kanye then allegedly 'attacked, attempting several punches' when the photographer continued to probe."

The 37-year-old continued speaking to the lawyer. "My mother was the first black chair of the English department in Chicago State. They didn't raise me to be out here wrestling with random paparazzi in front of LAX," he said.

"Sometimes I get in the car with the paparazzi. Paparazzi help me to park," the "Yeezus" artist continued, speaking about the fact that he does respect and photographers. "The paparazzi watch my car and makes sure that cops don't give me tickets. There are some nice guys out here trying to just feed their family."

"And then there's a******* like the guy you're representing."

"And this guy is asking me about dumb s***... So, you know, I'm sorry that I tried to grab his camera. But I obviously didn't try to hurt him. I'm not here to hurt people," he concluded.

West also said that when he stopped Ramos' camera, the photographer reportedly faked a fall, prompting onlookers to accuse him of hitting the man.

Was Kim Kardashian's husband bluffing about his dad Ray or was he telling the truth?

Based on previous interviews and bios made about him, it appears he is right.

"My father was a photo journalist. We had a dark room in our house," West was quoted as saying by In Touch Weekly.

Additionally, BoomsBeat noted his father as being "one of the first black photojournalists at the Atlanta-Journal Constitution."
