Samsung has already confirmed that it will be unveiling the Galaxy Note 4 on September 3 this year, according to Trusted Reviews. This is pretty much nearly exactly a year after its predecessor was introduced.

"The Korean manufacturer tweeted an image of a generic handset with an eye and detection reticule around the iris shown on the screen," the site said. "Although not definitive confirmation, this appears to be a strong indication as to what Samsung has up its sleeves for future phone offerings."

Meanwhile, PC Advisor revealed that the upcoming phablet's screen size may be similar to that of the Galaxy Note 3. It had been leaked that the said device will come with a 5.7-inch screen and "a Quad HD resolution like the LG G3 (1440 x 2560)."

Both the standard and the curved screen versions will reportedly be released and will come with the South Korean company's S Pen stylus, as powered by Android. "It is rumoured that the device will be able to recognise personal handwriting to unlock it and perform functions like calling contacts," the news source added.

"Like the S5, the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 has been tipped to include a fingerprint scanner incorporating home button, with the security measure set to become a staple of the company's flagship offerings," Trusted Reviews added. The site also said that it's likely that the smartphone will have a "massive" 4GB RAM and a 16-megapixel rear camera. However, it's possible that the actual product will have a 20-megapixel camera, as whispered by Korean insiders quoted by the site.

The Galaxy Note 4's processor may most likely be Qualcomm's Snapdragon 805, which "can be clocked up to 2.7GHz and has an Andreno 420 GPU." As for storage, it's likely that the new model will come in three options: 16, 32, and 64 GB. A microSD card slot that can accept up to 128GB is expected as well.

It's possible that the new flagship smartphone would come with the 4.5 or 5.0 Android version - codenamed "Lollipop" - that is said to come out in September. However, some sources have predicted that the device will be equipped with Android 4.4.3 KitKat.

Color options for the phablet is said to be similar as those for the Galaxy S5: Charcoal Black, Shimmery White, Electric Blue and Copper Gold.

Regarding the pricing, it's anticipated that the cost could range from $880-$960, which is not different to that of Galaxy S5. However, some leaks have pegged the price at $780.
