This is the "damning" evidence that should confirm rumors about Ariana Grande and Big Sean dating. They have been caught on camera backstage at the 2014 MTV VMAs engaging in what appeared to be their first PDA, ET reported.
"MTV cameras caught the 'Problem' singer holding hands with Big Sean while backstage at Sunday night's MTV Video Music Awards," the site observed. "The 26-year-old hip-hop artist is seen helping the 21-year-old along as she stumbles a bit."
Before this behind-the-scenes revelation, rumors about the two artists figuratively making sweet music together swirled after the two collaborated on "Best Mistake," which is one of the tracks included in Ariana's latest album, "My Everything." The rapper even provided backup vocals for "Problem." The duo had previously collaborated on "Right There" last year for the 21-year-old pop singer's first album, "Yours Truly."
"They have been friends since they made the song together. They have been spending more time together and recently have been getting very close. They are both doing great," an insider was quoted by The Daily Mail as saying.
Ari had called Big Sean as "one of my best friends" in a previous interview. However, with the recent PDA-filled sighting of the two, it looks like they're moving beyond the friendship phase. Even before that, it was reported that the pair "were spotted leaving a late showing of 'The Purge' at the Grove in Los Angeles," according to the British publication.
"A source said they were kissing during the movie and left before it was over," the site added.
And now, thanks to MTV's backstage cameras, it looks like things are official for this new couple. "After performing and accepting her award for Best Pop Video, the 21-year-old star runs backstage and she's greeted by Sean. When she trips and stumbles in her excitement, he's there to pick her up and hold hands," the music channel noted.
They may have not stepped on the red carpet together, but the revealed footage somehow made up for that.
It can be recalled that the songstress had called it quits with on-and-off again boyfriend Jai Brooks back in July, "because he wasn't there for her during a difficult time," according to The Daily Mail. On the other hand, Big Sean ended his engagement to Glee actress Naya Rivera in April this year. His ex-fiancee had since gone on to marry longtime pal Ryan Dorsey a mere three months later.
