Previously, actor-director Sylvester Stallone mentioned wanting to cast Steven Seagal, Jean Claude Van Damme, and Chuck Norris in the original "Expendables" movie back in 2010, Yahoo! Movies recalled. He relentlessly pursued them and finally got a "Yes" from Norris and Van Damme. Unfortunately, Seagal proved to be immovable.

"I reach out and try, I try," the "Rocky" star said.

Another actor Stallone tried to cast in the previous "Expendables" installments is martial arts superstar Jackie Chan.

Now, it appears Chan is singing a different tune.

Stallone has finally got a foot in the 60-year-old karate-chopping comedian's door, so to say. Truly, perseverance pays off.

However, it looks like the "Rambo" star needs to do a bit more negotiating to seal the deal for Chan's involvement in the fourth installment of the "Expendables" franchise.

"Of course, I definitely want to do it," Chan told The Daily Mail during a promotional jaunt for his latest film "Chinese Zodiac." "Except I told Stallone: 'Can I have a bigger role?'"

Before you assume the actor must be joking, hear the rest of what he had to say.

"I just don't want to come out for like five minutes, and after my fight I'm gone. I want more human [interaction], more drama," he continued. "Too many actions stars in the movie. The audience don't know who to concentrate on! I'm waiting for [Sylvester's] call. I believe he will call me in a couple of weeks."

"I told Sly, 'Can I do a movie just you and me?' He said, 'Okay, good!' So somebody's writing a script right now," Chan added.

Looks like Stallone is willing to go through lengths just to have the martial arts veteran involved in his next movie project.

Yahoo! Movies also quoted the Asian star as admitting that the "Expendables" cast are all "good fighters."

"But I believe I can run faster than [all of them]," he pointed out.

At 60, Chan indeed is in great shape as he continues to churn out one action movie after another and even doing his own stunts. However, he also said he's trying to slow down, given his age.

"I don't know when to stop. Sometimes I just believe that I still can do it. Sometimes by body tells me to stop!" he revealed to The Daily Mail. "I just finished a movie in the desert with Adrien Brody and John Cusack... My wife dies and I kneel down and speak. She's crying, I'm crying."

"But after the cut I could not get up! My knees hurt. I know my body's slowly telling me to stop," he added.

That's the relentless Jackie Chan for you!
