Well, well, well, it looks like the country music superstar has been busy making her 5th album all this time.

Monday found some audiences surprised at the news that Taylor Swift has debuted her latest single "Shake It Off" from a new album, "1989." Forbes said Tay took a page off Beyonce's book with this new release.

"Country superstar Taylor Swift 'pulled a Beyonce' by surprising the world with not only a new album title, cover, and release date, but by unleashing the first single and video of the new campaign as well, all in the span of half an hour," the finance and business news site said.

"The song is a dramatic departure from the country songs that made her a household name. Instead of a guitar, the Grammy winner has a slick pop production, complete with drums and undeniably catchy horns," the news source added.

The new single's "dramatic departure" from country music is due to the fact that Taylor had decided to dip her toes into the pop music scene with her new album.

"This is my very first official, documented pop album," she said, as noted by People.

"Having been born on Dec. 13 1989, this album is called '1989,'" she added.

The record takes inspiration from the '80s, despite the fact that the 24-year-old singer "was only alive for one year of the decade" (hence the album's name). That's because she "loved the chances they were taking" during that period.

"It was apparently a time of limitless potential ... The idea of that was so inspiring to me," Taylor shared.

During the 30-minute Yahoo livestream which launched her new single, video, and album, the "I Knew You Were Trouble" singer explained the cover of her "1989" record.

"That photo you are seeing is a Polaroid we took, we took the album photos on Polaroids," she revealed. "It was kind of an accident, so I figured why not make that photo the album cover?"

"The cover of the album is a Polaroid of herself, cutting off her face at the eyes with T.S. at the bottom left and '1989' at the bottom right. Swift is wearing a shirt featuring flying seagulls," ABC News observed.

The album can be pre-ordered now on her official site and will be on sale starting October 27th. The singer promised that "fans will actually get packets of real Polaroids inside the album -- 13 each, but different packs with different photos in each."

Thats not all - Mashable noted that the deluxe version of "1989" " will also include voice memos from her phone, revealing her thoughts and songwriting processes."
