Another exciting color of the Air Jordan 3 Retro is set to release on August 16 - the Sport Blue

In a report by Nike.com, the new colorway will be available in selected retail outlets and sneaker boutiques at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday. The label on the box describes the colorway as "Black/Sport Blue-Wolf Grey". Only one pair per customer will be released by Nike.com. Those who wish to avail of a pair should follow @nikestore to get the countdown link before the official launch time. Phone orders will not be entertained for Men's and GS sizes.

The Jordan 3 Retro Sport Blue is available at a retail price of $170 for men. GS sizes cost $120, PS sizes cost $75 while TD sizes cost $55.

According to a blog post on Footlocker.com, the Air Jordan 3 was the first shoe in the Jordan Brand line to feature visible air and the Jumpman logo, which is a departure from the Air Jordan with wings logo of the Jordan 1 and 2. The shoes also feature the popular elephant print. The sneakers have a black leather upper and grey elephant print details around the front toe area and around the heel area at the back. It has a white midsole and sport blue outsole. The inner linings are sport blue as well as the Jumpman logo at the back and on the tongue.

Sneakernews writes that the Sport Blue is a variation of the Powder Blue version which was also quite popular among collectors. The colorway is much closer to the OG or "True Blue" shade that original collectors are used to. People particularly like the color arrangement since it resembles the original Jordan 3's of old. The shoes are generally great for casual wear although some may still like to use these for playing to grab attention.

Select Foot Locker and House of Hoops by Foot Locker outlets will run a sweepstakes ticket process for people to purchase the Air Jordan 3 Retro Sport Blue. The sweepstakes tickets were given out on August 11 and 12. Individuals with chosen tickets should have been notified by phone on August 13 and 14. The method is for certain stores only. Other stores might not implement the sweepstakes approach.

Online releases are also available on websites like Footlocker.com and Eastbay.com. The shoes will be available on a limited basis so sneakerheads will have to log on early on August 16 to get a chance to purchase a pair in their size.
