The 2014-2015 NBA calendar is set to be revealed on August 13, but sources already shared that the Cleveland Cavaliers will face the Miami Heat on Christmas at American Airlines Arena.

In a report by Sun Sentinel, what is so special about the Cleveland Cavaliers facing the Miami Heat is that it will be the first time that superstar LeBron James' old team will face his new but original team. Based on the calendar, the Cavs are slated to face the Heat four times in the upcoming season. Aside from the December 25 game, they will play on February 11, March 16 and April 2, 2014. The February and April games will be played at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland.

Although an NBA source said that the present calendar is not yet final, fans can only expect minor adjustments as soon as the teams are given their preliminary schedules.

According to Miami Herald, the Cavs-Heat game on Christmas will be shown on ABC at either 2:30 p.m. or 5 p.m., depending on the other game to be shown for ABC on December 25, 2014. In this case, the NBA might have succumbed to ABC network's wish to feature the first Cavs-Heat match on Christmas Day.

Barry Watson of the Miami Herald said, "Barring an unexpected change of heart by the NBA, Christmas in Miami will feature LeBron James' much-anticipated return to Miami in an opposing uniform. Though the NBA's schedule will not be finalized and released until mid-August, an unofficial internal schedule of select games has Cleveland playing the Heat in Miami on Christmas on ABC, according to a person familiar with the situation."

It is actually the first time that the NBA allowed teams a full week off to rest and prepare for the All-Star break. For the 2014-2015 season, the Heat will go to Cleveland on February 11. Their next game will be against the New York Knicks on February 20, giving them a long break lasting eight days.

The Heat also revealed that they have an exhibition schedule in the preseason. One of the games will be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where they will play against LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers. There will also be three home exhibitions at the American Airlines Arena, in a report by Pro Basketball Talk.

In the 2013-2014 season, the Miami Heat, as defending champions, flew to Los Angeles to play against the Los Angeles Lakers on Christmas at the Staples Center. In the upcoming season, the Heat's first game of the regular season is on October 30,  where they will face the Washington Wizards.
