Another legendary singer would be gracing Ryan Murphy's "American Horror Story" series. Patti LaBelle is reportedly slated to appear in four episodes for the show's "Freak Show" season, according to TVLine.

"Freak Show" would be focusing on the last freak show in the U.S. during the 1950s. LaBelle will be playing a mother of Gabourey Sidibe's character and a local townperson who snoops on the secrets of the murderer named Twisty, the clown killer, TVGuide said. She will be joining TV veteran, Jessica Lange, who has since led the series, this time as a German expat who manages one of the last freak shows in America.

Several other stars who would be returning to the series include Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett, Frances Conroy, Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters, Billboard said. On the other hand, LaBelle will feel right at home as she would also be joined by newcomers, Michael Chiklis of "The Shiled" fame, Wes Bently of "The Hunger Games," John Carroll-Lynch, whose last appearance was in "Fargo," and Finn Wittrock of HBO's "The Normal Heart."

It has been confirmed that despite her prowess in singing, LaBelle will not be displaying the skill that she is known for in the series. Nonetheless, LaBelle is not foreign to acting, TVGuide said, as she has already acted in "A Different World," "The Nanny," "Cosby" and "Mama, I Want to Sing!"

LaBelle is not the first legendary singer who has appeared in the series. It could be recalled that in the previous "Coven" season, Stevie Nicks made her magnetic presence known on the small screen as a white witch, Rolling Stone reported.

However, she did sing on the show, the Rolling Stone added, and she covered Fleetwood Mac's "Rhiannon" and sang her own single "Has Anyone Ever Written Anything About You?"

"During the former, Day busts out a signature Nicks twirl (she was taught by the master herself), while Madison Montgomery (Emma Roberts) fumes with jealousy, snapping to the Supreme, Fiona Goode (Jessica Lange), 'I'm a huge Eminem fan, when's he get here?' To which Goode responds with a vicious grin: 'Marhsall? You're not his type,'" Rolling Stone recounted.

It would be interesting to know what Murphy and show co-creator, Brad Falchuk, have in store for the critically-acclaimed show, but it would definitely be more juicy than Nicks singing to Rabe. Although it would also help if LaBelle does break out a tune or two to remind us of her powerful vocal pipes.

"American Horror Story: Freak Show" would be premiering on FX this October.
