Dakota Johnson is set to be seen in theaters next year in one of the most anticipated film adaptations of literature to date. To be released a day before Valentine's Day next year, "Fifty Shades of Grey" would no doubt make her a breakout star, along with co-star, Jamie Dornan.

So why did Dakota, who would be playing the juicy role of college student, Anastasia Steele, ban her mom, Melanie Griffith, from watching the film?

Melanie told Indie Wire that her daughter with 64-year-old actor, Don Johnson, actually banned both of them from watching the sex-themed film. She told the publication, "I have not seen "50 Shades of Grey." I don't think I'm going to see it...[Dakota] was like, "You guys cannot come. There's no way." So we're not going. I did go visit for a couple of days when they were shooting just normal stuff. I did see the Room of Pain - I did go in there and check it out."

Melanie has also appeared in sexy films. According to her IMDb profile, the actress starred in a slew of sexy films, including 1984's "Body Double," of which she was nominated for a Golden Globe. Even if she won't be watching the movie, Melanie said she hasn't stopped expressing her support for her daughter, especially now that her career's picking up.

"On the eighth, I'm going to see my daughter filming another movie on Pantelleria [in Sicily]. She just did a movie with Johnny Depp ["Black Mass"]. She's amazing - so good. It's just so beautiful to see her doing this. She had her mom and her dad and her grandmother and she's just taken us all and thrown us away. She's like, 'Here I am.'" Melanie gushed.

Dakota's dad is also equally proud of his daughter's accomplishments. Citing an interview Don did with "Good Morning Britain," Daily Mail quoted the actor, who said, "This is what we do, and I am absolutely certain that Dakota will take a piece of material and a character which a lot of people might imagine could be inappropriate in some ways and turn it into something spectacular."

Meanwhile, the "Fifty Shades" trailer has been deemed "the biggest online film launch in cinematic history," according to the Independent. The interest in the BDSM film adapted from E.L. James' best-selling erotic novel has reached fever pitched, when Beyonce first shared a short teaser of the movie with a slowed-down version of her massive hit single, "Crazy In Love," as the background music. The trailer trended on Google in the U.S., U.K., Canada, France and Germany, while it garnered 98,000 mentions on Twitter per hour at its peak.
