Is Brangelina an unshakeable pairing or what?

Hollywood's power couple has weathered nearly a decade of split rumors and paparazzi houndings, as well as intense speculations over their family life, careers, and even the date of their wedding. What's the secret to Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie staying together for so long under the spotlight and with such an extensive brood?

A recent update on the couple may give the rest of us a clue into what makes their partnership enduring. In a recent interview, Angie herself revealed that she exchanges love letters with her hubby when they're away filming in separate locations.

"He was supportive from a distance and it was quite romantic in a way," she told Australia's TV Week magazine. "We decided to be of that time when we could imagine he was in the European theatre and I was in the Pacific theater and we wrote hand-written letters to each other that were very connecting for us, thinking of the people that were separated for months if not years at a time back then."

How romantic! Did they go the whole nine yards and used ink and quill pens to create their missives? Perhaps other busy Hollywood couples could take a page out of Brangelina's book and use it for themselves.

"The correspondence occurred as they both worked on World War II themed films, with Angelina directing 'Unbroken' - the biopic of Olympian turned war hero Louis Zamperini - in Australia and Brad starring as a soldier fighting the Nazis in 'Fury' in London," The Daily Mail noted.

Unfortunately, that apparently seemed to be all that Ange revealed about her relationship with Brad.

In the same interview, she also shared how she was able to show Zamperini a "rough cut" of the film she was working on that was based on his own life just before he passed away.

"I brought him the film on my laptop in the hospital," she began, as noted by ABC News. "It was amazing seeing someone at the end of their life watching their life unfold again, at the same time their body was shutting down."

The World War II POW passed away early in July at the ripe age of 97.

"He wanted me to make the movie to show something hopeful about the strength of the human spirit that can pull us through," Angelina recalled. "He reminded me to have my surgery in the year that I did and he reminded me to appreciate every day of my life."

Perhaps the letter-writing is her way of appreciating Brad's presence in her life every day.
