The end of the Islam religion's Ramadan, a spiritual devotion practiced by Muslims around the world through reflection, and predominantly through fasting, will most likely be observed on Monday, July 28, in the U.S., and Tuesday on other parts of the world, the Huffington Post said.

The Express Tribune said that the sighting of the Shawwal moon on Sunday by authorities had signaled religious authorities to declare the end of the Ramadan. Although many are looking forward to what food each Muslim family is set to prepare on the table to welcome Eid al-Fitr, also known as Eid ul-Fitr or Eid, there are other things our brothers and sisters in Islam would be partaking for arguably one of the most joyous days in the Muslim calendar.

Ahead of the declaration of the end of Ramadan, the International Business Times said Muslims will take part in the last congregational Friday prayers, or called Jummat-ul-Vida. Muslim women are also known for their decorative trinkets, tattoos and colorful swathes of clothes to celebrate in the Eid festivities as well. Young women in turn are more risk-takers in fashion as compare to their elders, and often undergo traditional henna designs, of which services are now available even in malls. For those who can afford, they resort to exchanging gifts within the family tree, perhaps to thank Allah for the blessings and for guiding them in observing the season. Some would be flying back to their hometowns to join their other family members to celebrate Eid.

And when there's family, there is food. The Wall Street Journal reported that there are four dishes that would most likely be present in every Muslim feast. Rendang, which is a favorite in Indonesia, is a meat curry dish that is spiced with ginger, turmeric leaves, lemongrass, chilies and other spices. Rendang is said to be best served with a compressed rice cake known as ketupat.

Ketupat is also best served in opor ayam, which is chicken stew served in coconut milk. Because of the fact that the ricke is compressed inside a small bag made of weaved coconut leaves and then cooked, its distinct flavor partners that of the savory and saulty chicken dish.

The Sambal Goreng Ati Ampela is reportedly also paired as a complement to ketupat and opor ayam. This dish is a chili paste that is predominant in every meal in Indonesia. Meanwhile, Nasi Liwet is rice cooked in coconut milk and chicken broth, which has delighted food bloggers who travel to Muslim-populated countries such as Indonesia.
