Apple was just granted another "i" product for the device they called "iTime." In the filing for the U.S. Patent in July 2011, Apple wrote that "The invention pertains to an electronic wristwatch."

PC World got hold of the paperwork, reporting that the filing read, "For example, the gesture might be a horizontal movement for one user input option (e.g., decline incoming call), and might be a vertical movement for another user input option (e.g., accept incoming call). For example, the gesture might be a single shake (or bounce, tap, etc.) of the user's wrist for one user input option (e.g., accept incoming call), and might be a pair of shakes (or bounces, taps, etc.) for another user input option (e.g., decline incoming call)."

It seems that Apple has patented their newest gadget with a wristband-wearable device, with sensor-filled straps that can theoretically allow users to answer calls by flicking their wrists.

Photos of the patented product were leaked online, and it showed that the device can be removed from the straps to serve as a media player.

The gadget is a square-shaped display with an iPod Nano as a centerpiece. It is reported to have accelerometers, GPS modules, WiFi radios, and haptic feedback, recreating a sense of touch for the user.

It is also said that the wearable device can be synced to other Apple products like iPhones, iPads, and Apple computers as part of the "personal wireless environment."

Apple wrote, "Portable electronic devices are commonplace today. In some cases these portable electronic devices can be carried by a user with relative ease, placed in a pocket of user's clothing, or clipped onto the user or the user's clothing. Some portable electronic devices are small enough to be worn by a user. Additionally, accessories have been utilized to provide additional functionality to portable electronic devices. There are, however, continuing needs to make portable electronic devices smaller and more portable. There is also a continuing need to enhance functionalities of portable electronic devices."

According to Mashable, the device is also going to come with a flexible AMOLED display and sapphire cover glass, which is the first time that the company has integrated such kind of display into a consumer product.

Although it was believed to have an early launch date, complications relating to its operation system and  iOS redesign to fit into a much smaller screen, it is expected that the iWatch will not be in stores for at least another few months.
