It's been two years since "Prometheus" graced the big screens and astounded audiences with its magnificent visual effects and imagery. It baffled us with its mysteries, as well. Nonetheless, the film turned out to be a certified box office hit, earning no less than $400 million in revenues worldwide. This profitable result, as you may know by now, typically warrants a follow-up in the hopes of duplicating this box office success.

However, not all hits get to have a sequel, like Disney's "Frozen." However, "Prometheus" is the kind of film that can use one, as director Ridley Scott would seem to agree. It was reported back in May that the legendary filmmaker was scouting for film locations in Australia for "Prometheus 2," according to The Daily Mail.

He was seen flying into Sydney and was rumored to be scheduling pre-production meetings, although AusFilm, the Australian screen industry organization, has declined to comment on Scott's presence in the Land Down Under.

So, why should there be a "Prometheus 2"? Here are 4 reasons:

We Need Clarity, Answers

"The film, written by Lost's Damon Lindelof, is famous for answering almost none of the questions it initially posed and culminating with an open-ended finale which left plenty of room for a sequel," The Guardian observed. "Complicating matters is the fact that the film exists within the same universe as Scott's classic 1979 space slasher flick 'Alien.'"

It's a known fact that one of the criticisms of the film was the fact that there were a couple of twists and events that would use a little bit more explaining, for the peace of mind and enjoyment of audiences. As movie critic Roger Ebert puts it, the film is more intriguing as it "raises questions about the origin of human life and doesn't have the answers."

We Can Never Get Enough of Mind-Boggling and Stunning Visuals

"Prometheus" has been called "a visual feast of a 3D sci-fi movie" by The Hollywood Reporter and also regarded as having "staggering visuals" by Ebert. Indeed, critics and fans of the film will agree on this point: that the original was, hands down, magnificent in scenery and special effects.

And that's one of the reasons why you go to the movies, right? You want to lose yourself in larger-than-life moving images that sweep you up and away into another world, another consciousness. And so we say, "Encore!" to the high-quality visuals.

Who Doesn't Love a Fantastic Acting Ensemble?

There's Academy Award winner Charlize Theron, then there's Oscar nominee Michael Fassbender. And then there's "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" actress Noomi Rapace and Golden Globe awardee Idris Elba. That's a lot of acting talent to sink your teeth into. It's the kind of casting that you don't see happening often. And if they did it in the original, we're thinking they may assemble an equally exquisite cast for the sequel.

Michael Fassbender Will Be Back - Including His Many Clones

As mentioned earlier, the casting for this film is heavyweight indeed. And we're delighted to learn that Fassbender will be back in the sequel, according to The Wrap. He delivered a very fine turn in the movie as the android David. What's even better news is that we'll be seeing "multiple Davids" in part two. Fassbender fans must be jumping with joy upon learning of this.
