Does Nina Dobrev know? According to a report by US Weekly, Ian Somerhaulder has now the hots for another vampire. "Twilight" actress Nikki Reed had been spotted getting cozy with the 35-year-old actor during a weekend adventure that are typically undertaken by couples. On Saturday, the new couple were seen on a run in Los Angeles, Daily Mail said. The two were later spotted at a local Farmers market the following day.
Citing an US Weekly source, the two had hooked up and went on a dinner date the week before in San Fernando Valley and at the Kiwami restaurant in Studio City on July 15th.
If people are surprised with the two hooking up, friends in their social circles are not. Reed is close friends with Somerhaulder's ex-girlfriend Dobrev, and that the actor had dated Reed's fellow "Twilight" co-star Ashley Greene, albeit briefly, back in 2009. Interestingly, Dobrev and Reed had dated the same man at different times, US Weekly noted. Following her split from "American Idol" contestant Paul McDonald in March, Reed had a fling with "Dancing With the Stars"' Derek Hough.
Would Dobrev freak out now Reed is getting cozy with her former boyfriend of three years? The television star had shot down rumors of her having ill feelings against her co-star to Nylon magazine during a recent interview. She said, "I don't like any kind of negativity. I try to be good to everyone, whether it's a love, a friend, an ex. I'll always try to treat people the way I want to be treated."
However, a Hollywood Life source had said otherwise. The insider said, "Ian and Nikki are still in the trial stage of their relationship and they haven't shared with many that they are testing it out. They don't ever want to broadcast to the world what they are doing in their personal life, especially if it isn't going to go anywhere. They are definitely keeping others [Nina & Paul's] feelings close as they work on their decisions to start an exclusive relationship together. They don't want to upset anyone. It is beyond baby steps right now between the two and Nina hasn't been told anything. But Nina isn't stupid either, she reads the gossip like the rest of us so she will know soon enough."
But if there's any indication that Reed and Somerhaulder are willing to go public with their romance, perhaps their shared adventures over the weekend would be one sign that they are not afraid to hurt other people's feelings, especially of their former partners.
