Bruce Jenner Sex Change Update: Everything We Know So Far

For a couple of months now, the rumor mill has it that former Olympian Bruce Jenner is thinking of having gender reassignment surgery.

When you consider his athletic past and the fact that he appears to have begun preparing for a sex change during his twilight years, the prospect of him becoming a female is quite a surprising one. Which is also why news about his sex change plans continue to share column space in entertainment publications.

So, how is the rumored gender transformation coming along? Here's what we know so far:

He's Shaved His Adam's Apple

Hollywood Life reported that the 64-year-old had already had a chondrolaryngoplasty back in February this year. "This is usually the first step in gender reassignment surgery," the site added.

His Hands Look More "Womanly"

"Bruce Jenner is showing off a set of rather womanly looking fingernails, which, teamed with his long ponytail gives him a rather feminine look," The Daily Mail observed.

He Reportedly Wants to be Called Bridgitte

"Bruce has already picked out a female name in case he does have the surgery: Bridgitte," The Hollywood Gossip said. He also has consulted transgender rights advocate Renee Richards on the sex change dilemma.

"Richards, who was born a man, allegedly told Jenner this procedure is dangerous, explaining 'it is not something to do unless you absolutely have no other choice,'" the site added.

He Has Split from Kris Jenner

In October last year, Bruce and the Kardashian matriarch announced their separation, after two decades of togetherness, ABC News said. However, he had since revealed that Kris could be "very controlling."

"I don't need that in my life," he was quoted as saying on a season preview clip of "Keeping Up with the Kardashians."

The separation has fueled rumors of a sex change, and is seen to push Bruce's plans to fruition.

"Bruce looks back at his past fondly, but he is doing what he is doing with his facial surgeries and other changes because he is interested in his future," a source told Hollywood Life. "And that future is to be as close to a woman as possible. It's embarrassing to the family, he knows that, but he has to live his life, not Kris's life anymore."

On top of these changes, Bruce's noticeably smoother face is also a telltale sign that the Jenner patriarch is cooking up something along the gender-reassignment lines. It's only a matter of time until we get the real score and hear of an official confirmation of his sex change aspirations.
