It's official: Power couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie will star in another movie together, their first since "Mr & Mrs Smith." But the "experimental, independent type" film, titled "By the Sea" will be nothing like the action-packed flick that started the romance for the iconic pair.

In an announcement made by Universal on Friday, the studio acquired the rights to the couple's first on-screen collaboration since 2005, with Jolie writing and directing the film, and starring alongside her long-time partner.

Jolie already dished out some detailson the movie a few months ago, telling Extra, "It's not a big movie, not an action movie. It's the kind of movie we both love but aren't often cast in. It's a very experimental, independent type film where we get to just be actors together and be really raw and open and try things."

According to the Daily Mail, the film is set to shoot on location in Malta, and it will focus on a couple's relationship. Malta's Prime Minister Joseph Muscat also confirmed the location, telling Us Weekly, "I'm happy that Hollywood producers have once again chosen Malta for their project, and we will be delighted to host Mr. Pitt, Ms. Jolie, and their family for the second time in just a few years. I'm sure that this film will help put our beautiful sister island of Gozo on the world map."

With her third directoral film in mind, is Jolie going to quit acting and go behind the scenes instead? Apparently not. She told Extra, "No, I'm getting there, at some point it will be... I love directing, and 'Unbroken' was one of the greatest experience I've ever had working with a film."

The 39-year-old actress sang praises for Universal, saying in a release that "They have created a very special place for storytellers. I look forward to the continued passion and support they have provided to me as a filmmaker."

Universal is also confident about Jolie's abilities, as Universal chairman Donna Langley praised, "Angelina continues to showcase her extraordinary storytelling abilities in front of and behind the camera and we are thrilled to extend our relationship with her on By the Sea." Angelina and Brad represent two of Hollywood's brightest talents and we are excited to be a part of their collaboration on this powerful piece."

Is this Brangelina drama something to look forward to? That remains to be seen, but considering Angie's achievements in the few films she did direct, this could me something worth your while.
