Robert Pattinson Dating Both Kristen & Katy? 'He's Playing the Field' Says Sources

Robert Pattinson may not be your typical ladies' man, given the fact that he is known to be a shy person, but he is surely the hottest ticket in town at least to two celebrities: his former girlfriend, Kristen Stewart and "friend," Katy Perry.

The actor, who has been shedding his "Twilight" image by taking more brooding roles like the one he played on the critically-acclaimed apocalypse drama "The Rover," is reportedly torn between the two ladies, CelebDirtyLaundry reported.

Citing unnamed sources, the gossip blog said that Pattinson isn't shy in playing the field, and is believed to be hooking up with both women for reasons that aren't just as romantic as they appeared to be. It has been said that Pattinson had long wanted to date Perry, but the "Roar" singer just wanted to hook up. On the other hand, Stewart is said to be pursuing her former beau, and that Pattinson is deflecting his ex-girlfriend's advances, given the fact that they famously broke up due to her "momentary indiscretion" with the married "Snow White and the Huntsman" director.

The hype surrounding Pattinson's love life, supposedly with Perry even reached new heights. The two were rumored to have engaged in sexual relations after Perry allowed Pattinson to stay at her home for the past month. Citing a source of British magazine Heat, The Independent quoted the insider as saying, "They've had a couple of flings, but they're not properly dating. Katy's still in touch with Diplo and Rob Ackroyd [both of whom she's also been linked to recently]. Still, she's in no hurry to move Rob out - they've even talked about living together."

Another insider said, "Rob and Katy have never stopped being in touch - she loves the attention but also thinks he's really sexy and funny. The texting stepped up in January when things started going bad between Katy and John. Rob's been a real shoulder for her to cry on. Since she's been single, though, the texts have hotted up - she loves drunk-texting him and they're always flirty."

On the other hand, Page Six said Pattinson is supposedly hunting for a girlfriend since Perry has been rejecting his advances towards her. The actor was reportedly spotted flirting with some model types at a party thrown by nightlife gurus Richie Akiva, Scott Sartiano, Ronnie Madra and Darren Dzienciol on Friday night at Nobu Malibu.

If there's anything that Pattinson could count on, it would be his growth from a love story hunk to a full-fledged dramatic actor. His co-star in "The Rover," Guy Pearce, commended the actor and told Total Film, "He's had a very different existence as an actor than I did. He's just this megastar. I don't know if he struggles with feeling like a valuable actor, as I did, but he shouldn't, if he does. He's amazing."
