The month of July brings good news to all gaming enthusiasts particularly after Microsoft announced that it is once again offering free games to Xbox Live Gold subscribers.

The XBox Games With Gold promo is a service that offers free games for subscribers every month. The titles change when a new month starts, offering users more choices and giving game developers the chance to showcase their work and gain fan appreciation. This July 2, according to Breathecast, the service puts up four free games, namely "Max: The Curse of Brotherhood," "Gotham City Impostors," "Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition," and "Halo: Spartan Assault."

"Max: The Curse of Brotherhood" is an action-adventure game that involves a kid named Max who needs to go through intricate puzzles to save his brother who was kidnapped. Max is helped by his trusty Marker as he faces tasks and fights enemies. "Gotham City Impostors" can be played by a team of six against another team of six. In this game, players can make their own "Jokers" or "Batmans" to suit their preferences. This way, the character player's abilities and look become unique. Watch the video below to fully appreciate how interesting this game is.

"Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition," is action-packed and features a character named Juan Aguacate, a luchador, who will go on a journey to save the el presidente's daughter from evil villain Carlos Calaca. Expect fights with both the living and the dead in this game. This game features wrestling moves like grapple attacks and easily switches between the living and dead worlds in order to get rid of opponents. This super turbo edition has more levels and bosses than the original release. Finally, "Halo: Spartan Assault" is a first-person shooter game set between "Halo 3" and "Halo 4." It can be played in co-op and competitive multiplayer modes. As we well know, the "Halo" series is one of the most popular video games ever released and centers on military science fiction and combat.

Kpopstarz writes that "Max" and "Halo" had already been offered for free on the site since June, while the other games will require zero Microsoft points only until July 15. Then, "Gotham" will be replaced by another free game titled "BattleBlock Theater," another action-packed adventure experience created by Behemoth, which will be free only until July 31.

According to Computer and Video Games, "Gotham" is 1.91 GB and will normally be priced at $14.99 on the digital marketplace. "Guacamelee," which is only 42.04 MB, has a standard price of $14.99, as well.
