As fans look forward to the release of NBA 2K15, the game's cover star Kevin Durant shared something interesting.
The recently crowned NBA MVP tweeted, "Did some work with @NBA2K on a very cool and secret project for #NBA2K15. More info coming soon #YourTimeHasCome". To increase anticipation for the game, Durant was featured in several posters and life-size cutouts in video game shops all over the United States.
In a report by Attack of the Fan Boy, in 2014, LeBron James was on the cover and had his own game mode called "Path to Greatness". The game mode revolved around the Miami Heat star aiming to win several NBA championships. In 2K15, fans expect to go through the life story of Kevin Durant, starting out in a small farm then becoming one of the most powerful players in the NBA, as he shared in his MVP speech.
It is still uncertain what Durant and 2K Sports have been meeting for in the past several weeks. Gamers expect that they are currently working on the special character mode and adding specific details based on Durant's personal experience, background and skills. The slogan #YourTimeHasCome, was used to refer to Durant's path in transforming into an NBA scoring champion and Most Valuable Player.
The cover of NBA 2K15 featured Durant in his OKC Thunder uniform with the landscape of the city behind him. The bold caption #YourTimeHasCome also appeared on the cover together with the game title.
According to Gaming Enthusiast, the official trailer of NBA 2K15 has also been released. Fans will see the consistent theme of making it to the NBA, even just in-game. There were several snippets and scenes from actual gameplay shown. One distinctive trait that the new version boasted of is real-life features. Fans will notice the upgrades on the face and skin of their favorite players, making these seem like they are watching live games on television. The details were a big improvement from 2K14.
Pre-orders for 2K15 are already available for gamers. The Kevin Durant MVP Bonus Pack is also available which provides purchasers with 5,000 Virtual Currency, Two MyTEAM Card Packs, a Kevin Durant Throwback MyTEAM Card and MyPLAYER Leg Sleeves, Inspired By Kevin Durant. Many video game stores have started contests, offering the bonus pack as a prize to raffle winners.
NBA 2K15 is set to launch on October 7 for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3 and PS4.
