Houston Rockets center Dwight Howard is famous for his jokes and love for games. While enjoying the NBA offseason, he decided to try something exciting which involves laser tag.

On June 22 (Sunday), he wanted to play laser tag but wanted to have more people to play with. He posted on Twitter via his account @DwightHoward, "Houston, meet me at Main Event Entertainment in Katy at 5:15. Bring your friends and family the games and Lazertag are on me."

He said in an article by Fox Sports: "I woke up and I was like, 'I want to play laser tag but I didn't want to play by myself. So I tweeted it out and a lot of people showed up. It was a lot of fun."

Howard arrived at Main Event in Katy, Houston at about 5:30 p.m. and bought several FUNcards to give out to hundreds of fans waiting for him. He played several games like laser tag, shooting hoops and Connect Four as people gathered around him. Troy Daniels, another teammate of Howard's, caught up with him to interact with Rockets fans. The two players spent a few hours playing games, taking photos and talking to fans.

The 7-foot center expected a few groups to come but was surprised that whole families and huge groups came to spend time with him. Apparently, hundreds of people immediately saw his post on Twitter. He has 5.16 million followers on the social media website. Despite the crowding fans, Howard was still glad to treat them to a round of laser tag.

Children and teenagers played laser tag with Howard and he took the time to sign autographs as well as take pictures with the kids before sending them home. There were plenty of photos of the Rockets center wearing the laser tag vest and standing behind a bunch of smiling kids. Parents and fans shared photos of their time with Howard on Twitter and other social media sites.

Allen Reid tweeted, "@DwightHoward picked up the tab, played games with the huge crowd that responded to his tweet earlier today #rockets."

Despite being eliminated in the 2014 NBA Playoffs, mingling with fans is a good move by Howard to gain their support and respect. In the past few days, the Houston Rockets seemed to be busy creating a proposal which involves Miami Heat superstar LeBron James.
