As the Miami Heat gears to win its third consecutive NBA title, LeBron James is again pitted against Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls.

Horace Grant, a former Bulls player, shared his thoughts in favor of his old team.

In a report by ESPN, Grant said that the current Miami Heat "wouldn't have had a chance" battling the Chicago Bulls with Michael Jordan at the helm. Grant added, "We would have locked them up. Especially with the rules today, Michael Jordan would have had a field day."

Grant said, "I'm not being biased, MJ would average 40 points today with the no hand-check rule. No question, 40 points."

Michael Jordan led the Bulls to two three-peat championships. The first was from 1991 to 1993 and the second was from 1996 to 1998. Also, the Bulls swept opponents five times and only got to play a Game 7 once. In terms of playoff percentage, Jordan's was .776 (45-13) while James' is .721 (44-17). Horace was part of the 1991 to 1993 team.

Bleacher Report writes that some experts disagreed that the current Heat would be totally helpless against the old Bulls. The Heat has a very strong defense and a unique type of offense never before experienced by the Bulls. The pick-and-roll was not as popular back then and a point forward like LeBron James did not yet exist at the time. Others also commented on Grant's expertise on the matter, considering that he was no longer part of the 1998 Bulls.

In terms of similarity, the 1993 Bulls and the Heat were the same in efficiency compared to the 1993 Bulls and 1998 Bulls. The 1993 Bulls and current Miami Heat had the second-best offense and seventh-best defense.

Game 1 will commence on June 5, 2014 featuring the defending champions against the San Antonio Spurs. Grant further expressed that he wanted San Antonio to win. "My fingers and toes are crossed the San Antonio wins just for the fact of being a fan of Popovich and the way that organization carries itself and the guys on the floor: Tim Duncan, Ginobili, Parker, Leonard. I'm a big San Antonio fan."
