When the iOS 7.1.1 update was launched, jailbreak attempts have proved to be unsuccessful. Until a couple of days ago.

Apple must be hopping mad about this, if this is indeed the truth.

A few days ago, a video showing the rumored succesful jailbreak was uploaded, The Epoch Times noted. If you ask why now, the uploader will tell you that funding issues slowed down the process.

"For many months now the Jailbreak community had the chance to influence a new public jailbreak by donating to https://isios7jailbrokenyet.com/ - instead they were manipulated by certain people with own financial interests to boycott it. So the JB community is basically responsible themselves that new public jailbreaks are only coming out slowly," the user explained.

However, it appeared that this is not the only jailbreak attempt posted on YouTube. Two other hackers had also uploaded their own jailbreak clips last month.

"While this all sounds well and good, however, it's possible that we won't see a public version of the iOS 7.1.1 jailbreak in the foreseeable future. That's because WWDC is just around the corner, where Apple is likely to announce iOS 8. Once iOS 8 lands it's likely that attention will be placed on jailbreaking that instead," Cult of Mac reported.

Well, since iOS 8 is slated for a fall release, it's likely that the iOS 7.1.1 jailbreaking spree may still be a relevant cause for now. However, since a beta version of the upcoming Apple smartphone update is currently available, it's possible that keen hackers will be practicing their jailbreaking chops on this instead.

In addition, Cult of Mac noted that a jailbreaker named winocm, who teased an iOS 7.1.1 jailbreak clip, will allegedly begin an internship with the iPhone maker sometime this year, which means she may stop her jailbreaking activities once she does so. Will this help curb successful jailbreaking attempts for the iOS 8?
