Friday was a grim day for those who have experienced Elliot Rodger's "murderous rampage." It was also a day of grief for the 6 victims of the virgin killer's "retribution" for offenses that he alone knew about.

He has since left a wealth of digital information about his hatred for women and the motivation behind his violence. However, his videos and Facebook profile has since been taken down and made inactive, according to Forbes.

So, who is this 22-year-old perpetrator who have since made headlines the world over? Here are 5 facts about the young Isla Vista murderer.

He's Got a "Hunger Games" Connection

According to The Guardian, Rodgers is the "British-born son of a film director" Peter Rodger, who has worked as assistant director on the hit movie franchise "The Hunger Games." The killer's family has since issued a statement regarding the incident: "The Rodger family offers their deepest compassion and sympathy to the families involved in this terrible tragedy. We are experiencing the most inconceivable pain and our hearts go out to everybody involved."

He Had Asperger's Syndrome

Rodger had previously been officially diagnosed as being "a high-functioning patient with Asperger syndrome," Forbes reported. He also had mental issues and was being treated by multiple therapists.

"He was seeing a psychiatrist as well as a series of 'counselors,' who were supposed to essentially act as friends and help him socialize, but Rodger's deranged jealousy was such that it only made him more distraught when women were attracted to his counselor and though he bonded with a female counselor, she moved away, and he didn't want another because it felt like prostitution to hire a woman to spend time with him," the business and finance news site noted. "The psychiatrist prescribed Risperidone, an anti-psychotic drug, but Rodger refused to take it after Googling it."

He's a Virgin at 22

He hasn't even kissed a single girl too, to his utter frustration. He then blamed his inability to socialize with women on the female members of the population. As such, as detailed in his manifesto, he said that if he can't have sex, he "will destroy it."

He Was Nearly Caught by Police

His own parents saw his hate-filled and deranged YouTube videos and reported them, Forbes said. This led police to visit Rodger's apartment, where they were reassured by the boy and told that he was fine. "He notes that if they had searched his room, 'they would have ended everything," the site added.

He Left Behind a Manifesto

A 141-page manifesto-cum-diary, titled "My Twisted World," was emailed by its author to about 30 people just seconds before he began his killing spree, The Daily Mail reported. Those 30 people included his own "mother, father, former teachers, and friends."READ:
