As the MLB gets deeper into the season, a number of teams have been showing a lot of promise, while others have struggled due to benched players.

In a Sports Net article, the New York Yankees won over the Chicago Cubs with a final score of 4-2. Preston Claiborne was on the plate for the first time in the MLB. Although the Cubs had a good start with the aid of Jeff Samardzija, the Yankees crawled back to take home victory.

After trailing 2-0, the Yankees scored a couple in the ninth inning against Hector Rondon. Veras threw a pitch over Murphy so Ryan went home while Murphy went to Solarte, giving the Yankees the lead. David Robertson had his ninth save in nine chances. Samardzija has been winless since starting 16 times. He said, "I've got a lot left. I feel good. You take it with how it goes. It doesn't always have to go the right way."

The Texas Rangers won over the Seattle Mariners with a final score of 3-4. The highlight of the game would be the two-run homer by Elvis Andrus which brought the Rangers up to win the game on May 22, 2014. Shin-Soo Choo also had a solo home run and two runs. Alex Rios and Adrian Beltre had two hits each. Andrus gave Texas the lead in the first. Young had a strikeout and groundout to end the starting frame. Cano had a two-run shot that tied the game 3-3. Choo put the finishing touch with his solo homer to give the Rangers the lead at the bottom of the fifth inning, according to Myrtle Beach Online.

The Los Angeles Dodgers also won over the New York Mets, after Yasiel Puig strong play. In 18 games, Puig had six home runs and 22 RBIs. Hyun-jin Ryu is also bound to return, which is expected to boost Dodgers' performance. Ryu recovered from shoulder inflammation but is expected to be back without limitations. As for the Mets, Jacob deGrom had one run and four hits in their 1-0 loss against the Yankees. He is the only pitcher in the team to have a hit in 72 at-bats for the 2014 season, writes ESPN
