Consumers want the iPad Mini NOW says a survey from Pricegrabber.com.

This adds to the anticipation that Apple is slated for a tremendous holiday season that will see its "New" iPhone and iPad mini launch one after another. It is widely believed that Apple will unveil the new iPad in October in order to not take away steam from its September launch of the iPhone.

But it seems that Apple's strategy would not be necessary as the survey indicated that 38 percent of respondents would prefer both devices to launch in the same month. When asked which they would prefer in September, 34 percent asked for the iPhone and 28 percent wanted the iPad mini.

However, only 13 percent of consumers would actually buy the iPad mini if it were to launch in September while 21 percent would buy the iPhone 5. However, the iPad mini did better than the iPhone throughout the rest of year with an astounding 45 percent claiming that they would purchase the iPad mini before the end of the year. 22 percent said they would purchase it within a year of its launch.

As for the iPhone 5, 36 percent of respondents want the iPhone before the end of the year and 16 percent would buy one within a year of its launch.

As for the reasons that consumers want the new gadgets, 61 percent stated that they would buy an iPad mini because they want a smaller iPad. This contradicts former Apple CEO Steve Jobs' notion that no one would want a smaller iPad. 50 percent of iPhone 5 buyers would be upgrading from a pervious iPhone to get all the upgrades and new gadgets the phone will contain.
