Consuelo Duval Leaves Televisa: Comedian Refused to Sign Contract as a 'Tantrum'

Mexican comedian Consuelo Duval revealed the reason she left the Televisa company, where she developed as one of the most relevant comedic actresses of recent times.

In an interview with radio show "Todo para la Mujer" by Radio Fórmula, Duval assured that she threw a "tantrum" in which she refused to sign the contract, owing to a strong emotional crisis stemming from her father's illness, feeling misunderstood by the company.

"I was like, protect me, tell me you're not going to abandon me and that you want me more than anyone and they told me no, there's no friends here, this is a business and it was a strong blow because I lived my life very confused," said the actress. "I threw a tantrum and I didn't leave, I was 'left', what hurt me most were the 'Honestlys...', that was a punch to the stomach, because firing me the next time, because I said I wouldn't sign and made a tantrum, it seemed like an even worse tantrum," she added.

The former star of "La Familia Peluche" with Eugenio Derbez, also assured that her "exclusivity" is to the public which has followed her and accepted her throughout her 25 years of career, saying she's in favor of laughter and a good image without bad news, assuring that she's willing to sign with another TV network with social responsibility.

Through her account on Twitter, Duval narrated the events with many tweets in which she highlighted the support she received from some colleagues and the strength she has to pull through and continue her dreams and projects.
