Brazil has officially announced its 23-man roster for the 2014 World Cup, according to an article on Bleacher Report. Aside from hosting the event, Brazil is among the top teams to most likely bring home the title, aside from Spain, Netherlands and Chile. During the announcement, Manager Luiz Felipe Scolari showcased some of the greatest talents in their side of the world.

The list does not include Kaka and Ronaldinho. Scolari, however, has until June 2, 2014 to finalize the roster so he might still decide to bring back the former FIFA Players of the Year based on team synergy. Kaka and Ronaldinho were also absent from the 2013 roster for the Confederations Cup in Brazil which won the overall title. The new list of talented players will actually feature, for the first time in two decades, a team that does not have a World Cup champion.

CBS Sports reported the full roster. The goalkeepers will be Julio Cesar (Toronto FC), Victor (Atletico Mineiro) and Jefferson (Botafogo). The defenders will be Maicon (Roma), Dani Alves (Barcelona), Maxwell (PSG), Marcelo (Real Madrid), David Luiz (Chelsea), Thiago Silva (PSG), Henrique (Napoli) and Dante (Bayern Munich). The midfielders will be Hernanes (Inter Milan), Luiz Gustavo (Wolfsburg), Fernandinho (Manchester City), Paulinho (Tottenham), Ramires (Chelsea), Willian (Chelsea) and Oscar (Chelsea). The forwards will be Jo (Atletico Mineiro), Hulk (Zenit), Fred (Fluminense), Neymar (Barcelona) and Bernard (Shaktar Donetsk).

In a report by ESPN, 16 players in the roster were part of the team that won in the warm-up tournament against world champion Spain in 2013. According to Scolari, the lack of World Cup experience by the players will not affect the overall performance of the team, since the players have also increased their experience by playing in their respective European leagues. He added that he fully trusts the players to be confident and play very well in the World Cup.

Scolari said, "The selection was easier than in 2002. It won't make A, B or C happy, but that is normal. But this is the moment to work together."
