"In the past year, Beyoncé has sold out the Mrs. Carter Show World Tour while being a full-time mother. Her secret: hard work, honesty and authenticity. And her answer to the question, 'What would you do if you weren't afraid?' appears to be 'Watch me. I'm about to do it.' Then she adds, 'You can, too.'"
Indeed, the mother-of-one has always championed "girl power" through song, dance, and lifestyle. The fact that she walks her talk on a global scale makes her a believable and admirable advocate. As such, it's no surprise that she has landed a spot on Time's list of most influential people this year -- and also doubled as cover girl on the Time 100 issue, beating other honorees, such as President Barack Obama and even Miley Cyrus, on the list.
The Time 100 list "acknowledges the most influential people in the world across industries, from titans to pioneers to artists to leaders." This year, a "record 41 women" has been acknowledged by the American publication.
The "Pretty Hurts" singer ended her highly successful and epic 132-show Mrs Carter Show World Tour last month. The Daily Mail reported that she, along with husband Jay Z, will be doing a 20-date U.S. tour starting at the end of June this year. This is one diva who keeps on going, and going, and going...
Other women who made it to the Time 100 list are Hillary Clinton, "Frozen" soundtrack co-songwriter Kristen Anderson-Lopez, Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel, actress Kerry Washington, tennis superstar Serena Williams, and teenage activist Malala Yousafzai.
