An action comedy involving the world's most famous doll, Barbie, is soon to be released as a part of an agreement between Sony, Mattel and Parkes+MacDonald/Image Nation.

A live-action version of Barbie's life is soon to premiere on the big screen under a script written by Jenny Bicks and produced by Walter Parkes and Laurie MacDonalds, with filming due to begin in late 2014, according to Deadline.

This new franchise's intention is to turn the doll into a real character which shows the personal and professional abilities that influence others, a sort of modern Mary Poppins, but with the glamour of a star with 55 years of experience as the model of a perfect woman.

Through a press release, Ana Minghella, production president of Columbia Pictures, a division of Sony Pictures, said that the new project hopes to show an unexpected concept; smart and funny, and to capture everything that made the doll a classic followed by generations.

On his part, the executive VP of Mattel, Tim Kilpin, said that Barbie's legacy throughout five decades is worth celebrating with a story on the big screen.

Barbie's "real life" will feature a young cast including Ken, and Barbie's best friend, and a group of stars who might be the focus of sequels.

The Barbie doll has become a life example for many people who seek to become the perfect woman; such is the case of Ukrainian model Valeria Lukyanova who has undergone multiple surgeries to look more like the Mattel doll, and following a spiritual life with rigorous diets.
