Mexican singer Luis Miguel celebrated his 44th birthday on April 19 and is one of the most popular Latino singers in the world, with over 60 million albums sold throughout his career, which he started when he was 10 years old.

Luis Miguel Gallego Basteri was born on April 19, 1970 in the San Jorge Hospital in Puerto Rico and then applied for Mexican citizenship in 1991, where he lived since he was a boy with his father, Spanish national Luis Rey, and his mother, Italian national Marcela Basteri, according to Univisión.

Throughout his career, Luis Miguel has achieved great success throughout his classic songs, among which are "Palabra de Honor", "La Incondicional" and his bolero repertoire with his "Romances" albums; winning international awards such as Antorchas de Plata at the Viña del Mar Festival, the World Music Award in Monaco, and the award to European Excellence in Spain, besides multiple Billboard awards due to the sales of his albums.

Among the lovers of the singer are beauties such as Alejandra Guzmán, Alicia Machado, Stephanie Salas (with whom he had a daughter he later acknowledged), Sofía Vergara, Thalía, Salma Hayek, Myrka Dellanos, Mariah Carey, Arecely Arámbula (mother of his two sons and his most stable relationship) and Brittnye Gastineau.

Currently, Luis Miguel lives an agitated life, involved in child support lawsuits for his children with Aracely Arámbula. The actress has said that Luis Miguel does not fulfill his responsibilities as a father and is distant from his children.

Luis Miguel was nominated for the best Latino music exponent in the category Tour of the Year in the 2014 Billboard Latino Music Awards.
