Entertainment One has released the first poster and trailer to David Cronenberg's latest film, "Map to the Stars."

The film stars Julianne Moore, Mia Wasikowska, John Cusack, Robert Pattinson, Olivia Williams and Carrie Fisher and takes a close look at Hollywood and what it reveals about Western culture.

The movie has long been predicted to be one of the Cannes Film Festival selections and the fact that a trailer, poster and a rating have already been released for the film are good signs of it being ready for the croisette.

Additionally, Cronenberg has a history with the festival, as a number of his movies have been screened in the competition slate. Recently, his movie "Cosmopolis" starring Pattinson, premiered at the festival in the competition slate. In 2005, his film "A History of Violence" also premiered in the competition slate to rave reviews, as did his 2002 film, "Spider."

Cronenberg also presented the highly controversial film "Crash" in competition, which went on to win the Special Jury Prize award.

While it is still too early to know whether or not Cronenberg will be back in Cannes, it is highly likely given his track record. Additionally, the festival likes to see many returning directors and also likes A-list actors to grace the red carpet. "Map to the Stars" has an A-List cast, which is likely to bring the journalists and buzz to the event.

"Map of the Stars" currently has no distributor at the moment and a premiere at the festival would likely help create awareness of the film.

The Cannes Film festival will announce its official lineup on April 17, but the festival has already previewed a couple of their selections. Released by the Weinstein Company, "Grace of Monaco," starring Nicole Kidman ("The Hours"), Frank Langella ("Frost/Nixon"), and Tim Roth ("The Incredible Hulk"), will open the festival.

The festival has also already announced that the opening night film of the Un Certain regard sidebar will be "Party Girls," which was directed by three up-and-coming directors: Marie Amachoukeli, Claire Burger and Samuel Theis.

There are number of films that are rumored to be selections including "Foxcatcher," "How to Catch a Monster," "Far From the Madding Crowd," "Inherent Vice," "The Normal Heart," "The Blue Room," and "Cloud of Sils Maria."

There are also rumors that "Maleficent" or "X-Men: Day of Future Past" could also bow at the festival.

The event already has a number of recognizable directors attending as jury members. Jane Campion ("Bright Star") is slated to serve as president of the competition slate while Andrea Arnold ("Fish Tank," "Wuthering Heights") will serve as the president of the Critics Week sidebar. Meanwhile, Lambert Wilson ("Of Gods and Men") will be the Master of ceremonies. The short competition's jury will be headed by Abbas Kiarostami (Iran), supported by directors Noémie Lvovsky (France), Daniela Thomas (Brazil), Mahamat-Saleh Haroun (Chad), and Joachim Trier (Norway).

The Cannes Film Festival will be held from May 14 to 25.
