A woman threw a shoe at the former Secretary of State of the United States, Hillary Clinton, during a speech in a Las Vegas hotel on Thursday.

George Ogilvie, spokesman for the U.S. Secret Service, said that the protester was not in the list of people invited to hear the spech, and was detained by security teams moments after throwing the shoe onstage.

The video shows the moment in which 66 year old Clinton is offering a speech in one of the conference areas of the Mandalay Bay hotel, when a woman with long blonde hair throws a shoe at her, which was dodged by Clinton.

The Review-Journal of Las Vegas, quoted by Reuters, reported that the former First Lady joked about the incident as she continued with her speech in front of about 1,000 people assisting a conference on metal recycling.

"That's somebody throwing something at me?" Clinton asked. "Is that part of Cirque du Soleil?" she joked. "My goodness, I didn't know that solid waste management was so controversial," she added, causing the audience to laugh.

Earlier this week, Clinton, who lost the democrat nomination to the Presidency to the then-Senator Barack Obama, assured that she's "thinking" about running for the 2016 Presidential elections.

During a marketing conference in San Francisco, Clinton said that she hasn't completely decided whether she's going to run; however, she confessed that it is a possibility she's studying closely.

"Actually I'm here trying to get some marketing advice," Clinton said. "Obviously I'm flattered and deeply honored of having people asking and cheering for me. I'm thinking about it, but I'm going to keep thinking for some time. In part because the tough questions are not 'Do you want to be president? or 'Can you win?' but rather why. Why do you want to do this and what can you offer that would make a difference?" said Clinton, reported Reuters.
