The challenges and human enrichment offered by the role of "La Gata" is the best starring role actress Maite Perroni has had, since it represents a personality 100 percent unlike the actress, she said herself during an interview.

For Maite, playing "La Gata" is a daily challenge that forces her to work with the various nuances to project a character who represents so many characteristics completely different to what she is, and even those she has played before in her career.

In an interview with radio host Javier Poza from Radio Fórmula, Perroni said that producer Nathalie Lartilleux has allowed her meet her career commitments as a singer and added that one of the telenovela's songs is a part of her latest album, soon to be released.

"It's a well-rounded project in which I'm going to play 'La Gata' and sing the theme song at the same time, and I believe this is a very good moment to join these two areas for me," she said.

Filming for "La Gata" is taking place at a garbage dump in Chalco, State of Mexico, location which has been entire experience for the young actress who in previous roles was known for being a cute, sweet and tender woman; and in this new project she realized that reality for many others is completely unknown to her.

"You start to become a part of a reality which exists and is unknown to us, that in our daily lives we're used to know there's infinite worlds and lifestyles, but we only enjoy our own and when you allow yourself to reach into a foreign space and live it, and you make it a part of you, and you play character born in this place, you start to open up, it's social analysis, political and personal and it's very impressive," she said.

The story of this remake of "La Gata" tells the story of a humble and lovely young woman her friends and family call "La Gatita 'Esmeralda'", who falls in love with the character played by Daniel Arenas.

Throughout the story, the difficult life conditions many Mexicans have to endure will be shown with the help of the people of Bordo de Xochiaca, who will participate in the production.

Televisa's new telenovela will premiere on May and it's expected to be one of the biggest summer hits in Mexican TV.
