Greninja and Charizard are joining other Pocket Monsters in "Super Smash Bros." for 3DS and Wii U, as revealed in a Nintendo Direct Presentation.

According to GameRant, Charizard will be returning without Pokemon Trainer in the upcoming title. Now a solo playable fighter, the Pokemon will have the ability to transform into one of his Mega Evolutions, Mega Charizard Y, the outlet notes.

Greninja, evolving from Pokemon X and Pokemon Y, will not be able to transform as Charizard does, says GameRant. The water and dark-type Pokemon is reportedly the final form of Froakie, says Polygon.

The two Pokemon will also be playable characters and joins other Pocket Monster playable characters in "Super Smash Bros." namely Pikachu and Lucario. Lucario will be able to transform into his Mega Evolution. The Nintendo 3DS and Wii U title also has other non-playable Pokemon, including Arceus, Meowth, Electrode, Eevee, Staryu, Metagross, Fennekin, Meloetta, Gogoat, Entei, Deoxys, Palkia, Kyurem, Victini, Keldeo and Xerneas, Polygon says.

The Nintendo Direct Presentation also revealed other information about the upcoming "Super Smash Bros." In the video, franchise creator Masahiro Sakurai announced that the Nintendo 3DS version of the title is set for Summer 2014 while the Wii U version of the game is expected to be out at a later date in Winter of the same year.

Aside from release date, Sakurai also said that most elements in the Nintendo 3DS version will run 60 frames per second and even in 3D. He adds that some elements might move 30 frames per second but assured that fighters will move smoothly and that the differing frame rates will not affect gameplay.

Sakurai also clarified in the video that the fighter line-up for both the Nintendo 3DS version and the Wii U version of "Super Smash Bros." will be the same but the stages will be completely different across platforms.
