The well-loved game is coming to Sony's current gen game console this month!

The VooFoo Studious game debuted May 2012 on the PS3 and the PS Vita, notes Joystiq. It has also been made available on Nintendo 3DS & Wii U last month. Now, "Pure Chess" will be conquering another Sony game console, releasing April 15 on the PS4.

The game reportedly costs $7.99 to set up, notes Joystiq. The Complete Edition costs almost double the price at $14.99 and allows players to get extra locations and set themes.

VG 24/7 notes that the PS4 version of "Pure Chess" will apparently be "the definitive version," offering players improved visuals. Publisher Ripstone Games lists that the PS3 version of the game is in Full HD 1080p and with Stereostopic 3D support.

The previous month, VooFoo studios also announced that "Pure Chess" will be playable across platforms, allowing players to engage in matches against friends on Wii U, Nintendo 3DS, iPad, iPhone, iPod and Android devices. Ripstone's announcement has not mentioned the PS4 as part of the platforms supporting multi-player experience.

The game publisher lists that Easter Island, Battalion, Forest, Roman, Park and Halloween game packs will be available. 3 tournaments and 100 bonus chess puzzles will also be included in the full game of "Pure Chess."

Joystiq notes that "Pure Chess" includes tutorials for strategies of various skill levels for those who are noobs at playing the game. Seasoned chess players can try going up against those in the leaderboards or play a game of chess with their friends, wherever they are.

Ripstone describes the game as follows:

"Pure Chess puts other chess games in checkmate! Experience one of the oldest known boardgames on the advanced technology of today. With ultra-realistic visuals you can almost reach out and touch the pieces. Pure Chess is a game that can be played by everyone, at any age, but mastered by only a few. Are you a Grandmaster in the making?"
