"It wouldn't be June without an Apple developer conference in the earlier part of June. Let's wait to see what Apple announces and then either type about it or make videos about it, or perhaps both," says an old byword among tech bloggers, according to Time.

As such, the recent declaration that the Cupertino, CA-based company will be making "big announcements" this coming June comes as no surprise, at least to those in the tech industry.

"Apple has just announced the dates of WWDC (Worldwide Developers Conference) - it'll run between June 2 and June 6, almost certainly with an opening keynote where Tim Cook and friends will unveil what's next for Apple," Time said.

However, if you were hoping that the gadget innovator was going to reveal juicy tidbits or a prototype of iPhone 6 itself, you may be disappointed.

"Because it's a conference for application developers, the big unveilings tend to focus on operating systems and software, so don't bet on any major iPhone or iPad announcements. Desktop and laptop lines may get a refresh at the event, however," CNN revealed.

At the same time last year, Apple had unveiled its latest desktop OS version, the OS X Mavericks, as well as an update to its mobile counterpart, the iOS 7. The company also gave the public its first peek at the new high end, tubular Mac Pro, which will reportedly be released about 5-6 weeks from now, after much delays.

So, what will the company most likely discuss this year?

CNN speculated that there may be a preview of iOS 8 this June, as well as discussions about OS X updates.

"Apple could also update the MacBook, iMac and MacBook Air with new, faster processors. The MacBook Air might finally get 'retina display,'" CNN added.

It's also likely that the iWatch, which has long been whispered about among industry pundits, could be unveiled during the event.
