A little over a week after it was revealed that actress Angelique Boyer and producer José Alberto Castro were definitely separating, rumors surrounding the breakup abound in Mexico's local media, with the loudest rumor being that of domestic violence against the actress.

A source close to the source made some revealing statements to TV Notas assuring that Angelique had been beaten by Castro, who is 28 years her elder.

"Look, I find it very painful that such a talented and lovely woman was with such a noxious man who did not value or thanked that a girl like her laid eyes on him, I'm telling you as a gentleman, because I would be honored to have her next to me. Fortunately, they broke up, but not last week as they said on Twitter. It was since Feb. 8, she got tired of enduring his violence and broke up with him," the source told the magazine.

The anonymous source assured that 25 year old Boyer, and 53 year old Castro, had starred in various fights in public and parties, adding that many of the witnesses were shocked by the way in which the producer treated the young actress.

"They had some bad fights in the middle of parties, in front of everybody, until other people just froze when they saw how he treated her," the source added.

Last March 11, Angelique Boyer announced her breakup with José Alberto Castro through a brief press release shared through her Twitter account.

The couple who had spent three years together said that heavy work load was the cause for their separation, without either party providing any further statements regarding the matter.

Another theory on the couple's breakup reveals that Boyer fell in love with Sebastián Rulli, her colleague in the telenovela "Lo que la vida me robó". Univisión pointed out that there was great chemistry between the actors; however, the actress dismissed the rumors, assuring that her relationship with Castro was the best thing that ever happened to her, according to Hola magazine.
