Mexican singer Vicente "Chente" Fernández announced the release of his latest album in which he ventures into tango, with its first single "Mano a Mano".

"Mano a Mano. Tangos a la Manera de Vicente Fernández" is an ambitious project with which the king of mariachi, "Don Chente" puts his sombrero aside and seeks to conquer tango with 12 songs produced by himself, which he did in his Rancho Viejo studio in the city of Guadalajara, Jalisco, according to a press release.

The document quoted by Mexican newspaper El Informador indicates that Vicente Fernández' tango project will be released on March 24 in digital format and March 29 in music stores around the country.

The album took a year to make and includes songs by Carlos Gardel, Mercedes Simone, José María Contursi, Alfredo Le Pera, Marianito Mores and Enrique Santos DIscépolo, with arrangements by Carlos Martínez, Luis Casasola, Heriberto Aceves and Luis Cárdes; which give the project a unique mariachi touch.

Mexico's charro celebrated his 74th birthday on Monday, March 17, in the company of his grandchildren and children in a Japanese restaurant, according to El Mañana. In an interview, Don Chente said that his new album will have adequate advertising, and added that he still has some songs to publish and that's why he decided to install his own studio in his ranch, Los Tres Potrillos.

Vicente Fernández is one of the greatest ranchera musicians in the world. Born in Huentitán el Alto, Jalisco, he has won many awards and acknowledgements, and the title of Mister Amigo in Brownsville, Texas.
