Courteney Cox chatted with Ellen DeGeneres on her show last January 7, and shared her reaction to news that David Arquette is having a new baby with his girlfriend Christina McLarty.

According to ABC News, Cox said in the talk show, "At first I felt nervous." She added, "I was like, 'Ooh, this is heavy.'...[Now] it's great."

She also told audiences that Coco felt the same way, referring to her and Arquette's 9-year old daughter from their previous marriage. Cox said their daughter was also a little scared at first but added that their daughter is now looking forward to being a big sister.

The 'Cougar Town' actress appeared very excited about her ex-husband's news and even blurted out the baby's gender during the show.

"They're going to have a baby boy," but after realizing that she had just spilled a big secret, Cox immediately added, "I hope I'm allowed to say that."

News of Arquette's baby broke out in November of last year after TMZ confirmed that his girlfriend is pregnant. He was heard boasting to the film crew of the movie he was shooting in Vancouver that he was expecting his second child. McLarty, who is a reporter for Entertainment Tonight, was four months pregnant at that time. She and Arquette have been dating since 2011.

Cox and Arquette first met in 1996 while filming the movie "Scream", reports Hollywood Life. They married in 1999 and enjoyed more than 10 years of marriage before announcing their separation in 2010. Their divorce was finalized in 2012. The two remain good friends and have even worked on various projects together.

During the interview, Cox even shared that they recently had dinner together with their daughter Coco, and Arquette's girlfriend, McLarty. Referring to her beautiful relationship with her ex-husband, Degeneres told Cox, "That's the way it should be, you know. Relationships don't work out and it's hard but you...especially when you have a child. You have to kind of come together for the kid."
