Two years after the death of Steve Jobs, the man behind Apple, his ex-wife, Laurene Powell, is back on the spotlight, this time due to her romance with former Washington mayor Adrian Fenty.
Although there have been rumors of a possibly relationship between Powell and Fenty for months, the couple had not formally acknowledged their relationship until now.
According to information published by El País, 42-year-old Fenty and 50-year-old Powell share a passion for education and in recent years they have promoted an education reform in the US.
Miami Diario published a note saying that Fenty and Powell met in 2011 at an education conference in Houston, when Jobs was in the terminal phase of the pancreatic cancer he was diagnosed with in 2004, and since then the couple established a professional relationship and friendship that would get stronger with time, until mid-2013, almost a year after Fenty made his divorce public, when rumors of their relationship began, reported then The Washington Post.
With one of the biggest fortunes in Silicon Valley at over 11.7 billion dollars, Steve Job's widow is one of the world's richest persons according to Forbes. Besides education reform, she supports immigrants and immigration reform.
Besides her stock in Apple, Powell is one of the main stockholders of Disney, which provide most of her fortune.
Since rumors began of a possible relationship between the businesswoman and the former Washington Mayor, they managed their romance with the utmost discretion.
