Angel Di Maria has denied making any gestures toward fans during Real Madrid's 3-0 win over Celta Vigo.

The Argentinean was booed off the pitch to make way for Gareth Bale with the score level at 0-0. As he walked over the cameras caught the winger smiling and making a movement that many thought was a rude and obscene gesture.

"There was nothing towards anyone," Di Maria said, according to ESPN. "I was adjusting myself and I kept running. If I was angry I would not have shook hands with anyone. I left the pitch totally naturally. People are always waiting for me to do something.

"I have never had problems with the fans. I felt that half were applauding and half were whistling. I always need to clear up what I do," said Di Maria. "With everyone else there is no problem, but with me all hell is raised up. My family were in the stadium -- I am not going to make that gesture with them there."

The controversy seems to have been overblown by the media, much of which is clamoring to find out what Di Maria will do during the January transfer. The Argentinean has seemingly lost his spot in the lineup to Bale and there are questions about whether or not he remains with the team past the transfer window.

There have been reports that the Argentinean could head to Monaco, Manchester United or even Arsenal during the transfer window and some even claim that Madrid president Florentino Perez wants to move the winger out of Madrid.

Regarding the rumors, Di Maria was rather testy and blamed the media for creating speculation.

"Maybe the press in Spain do not like me because I do not give interviews," Di Maria said. "They want to put me against the fans and the club. They are always waiting for me to do something so they can kill me. I love playing, helping the team, and not talking with the press. I am happy here. I have the support of my teammates and of the coach [Carlo] Ancelotti."
