Juan Diego Florez has announced the birth of his baby girl Lucia Stella.

The Peruvian tenor announced the news via Facebook and stated, "We are blessed and forever grateful to have witnessed yet again the miracle of birth of our second little angel, Lucia Stella."

He continued, "She was born today, 1st of January, in the loving and calm atmosphere of our home in Pesaro, Italy."

The tenor also released two pictures of the newborn baby with his wife and his son Leandro.

The birth of his daughter is yet another surprise birth for the tenor. Back in 2011 his son Leandro was born half an hour before curtain at the Metropolitan Opera. The tenor was slated to perform the HD broadcast of the Met's new production of Rossini's "Le Comte Ory."

Florez is coming off a successful run of Donizetti's "La Favorite" in Monte Carlo. He will next grace the stage of the Liceu in Barcelona where he will perform the role of Elvino in Bellini's "La Sonnambula" with his frequent on stage partner Diana Damrau.

He is also scheduled to perform the role of Tonio in Donizetti's "La Fille du Regiment" at the Royal Opera House and Don Ramiro in Rossini's "La Cenerentola" at the Metropolitan Opera House.

The tenor is also scheduled to return to La Scala for Rossini's "Le Comte Ory."
