It is the end of the year and the countdown for the coolest technology products is here. Here is a list of some of the coolest inventions and innovations this past year

The Google Chromecast

According to CNet.com, this is a wireless USB stick that can stream Netflix, Pandora, YouTube, Google Music and HBO, and is able to control your television through your Android or iOS tablet. This cheap $35 dongle expands features for one's television.

The Google Nexus 7

This has been hailed by TechRadar as the "best 7 inch tablet on the market". It is easy to hold, affordable, durable with a strong battery life. While it has its drawbacks, such as a small 6GB space, it makes up for easy use and good hardware.

The Apple iPhone 5S

The latest version of the innovative design led by the late Steve Jobs is now slimmer and larger, with a Touch ID Fingerprint sensor. It also has expanded features for its camera, as well as a faster processor and graphics abilities, according to a review from CanIndia.

The Leap Motion Controller

This is a controller straight from the sci-fi movie "Minority Report" featuring Tom Cruise. Engadget says this controller may not replace the mouse as of yet, as the technology is still in its infancy, with more developments at the horizon. For now, it is still for creative and entertainment pursuits.

The Google Glass

While users may still get surprising looks from common people, Google Glass users are able to do voice messaging, reading emails and responses to Hangouts through the eyeglasses-like device. GizMag says while there are challenges, the use and potential for the technology is limitless.

These are the best for 2013. With 2014 around the corner, who knows what would technology and innovation produce next for the market.
