Apple's iPhone 5s has proved it is the top smartphone in the U.S.

According to Canaccord Genuity, via Apple Insider, the iPhone 5s was the top-selling smartphone for the third-consecutive month with AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon. The four mobile carriers launched the iPhone 5s on Sept. 20.

Meanwhile, within AT&T, the Samsung Galaxy S4 saw an improvement with its sales, as it became the second top-selling smartphone with the mobile carrier. During September and October, the Galaxy S4 was the third best-selling smartphone with AT&T, losing to the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c, respectively.

Apple's iPhone 5c followed a trend as seen with Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon Wireless. For October, the iPhone 5c was the third best-selling smartphone with Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon Wireless, behind the iPhone 5s and Galaxy S4 smartphones. AT&T's sales of the iPhone 5c followed the trend as the colorful Apple smartphone fell to third place during November.

Canaccord Genuity did not reveal specific sales figures from the four mobile carriers.

"Before the iPhone 5s and 5c's release, Apple, Samsung, HTC, Nokia, Sony, and Motorola all had handsets enjoying top-three sales at at least one of America's big four carriers," noted Apple Insider's Shane Cole. "Apple's September announcement pushed all but Samsung out of the picture and relegated the South Korean conglomerate's Galaxy S4 to the runner-up position across the board."

As Latinos Post reported, Apple maintained itself as the top smartphone OEM in the U.S. for another three months worth of data issued by comScore. Apple secured 40.6 percent of the U.S. smartphone subscribers market share ahead of Samsung's 25.4 percent during the three months ending in October this year.
