According to the Seoul Central District Court, Samsung's bid to ban sales of older Apple iPhones and iPads was dismissed despite the South Korean-based organization's claims that three of its patents were infringed.

The Apple products in question included the iPhone 4s, iPhone 5 and iPad 2.

The South Korean court stated Apple did not violate Samsung's patents on short messages display methods or message grouping features, noted Reuters.

Samsung's bid in financial damages was also dismissed. Samsung claimed Apple owed the company 100 million won, or $95,100 in financial damages.

A Samsung spokesperson stated, "As Apple has continued to infringe our patented mobile technologies, we will continue to take the measures necessary to protect our intellectual property rights."

The latest ruling in South Korea comes after Apple was ordered to pay Samsung 40 million won, or $38,000, in financial damages for infringing wireless technology patents by the South Korean-based company. The August 2012 verdict also saw Samsung fined 25 million won, or $24,000, for infringing a bounce-back function patent when reaching the end of a document.

Meanwhile, in the U.S., Apple has filed documents for Samsung to pay $22 million for the Cupertino-based organization's legal fees. A hearing for the latest filing by Apple is scheduled for Jan. 30, 2014. Apple was recently awarded $290 million in financial damages caused by Samsung over 13 products by the South Korean-based company. With the August 2012 U.S. trial, Apple has amassed $740 million from Samsung.
