The first two episodes were shown in the U.S. as part of a preview on Oct. 19.

The third episode, unaired in the U.S. so far, saw Ash Ketchum catch his second Kalos-based Pokémon in the form of Fletchling. In the same episode, Team Rocket's James caught an Inkay.

Episode four started with female protagonist Serena meeting Professor Augustine Sycamore as she selects her first starter Pokémon. Serena chooses the Fire-type Fennekin. Elsewhere, Ash, Bonnie, and Clemont are traveling to Santalune City for Ketchum to battle his first Kalos Gym Leader. Another Pokémon capture occurred as Clemont caught Dedenne only for Bonnie to nurture it.

The fifth episode marked the start of the Santalune City Gym battle with Viola, the sister of journalist Alexa. As an expert on Bug-type Pokémon, Viola uses a Surskit and Vivillon. Surskit proved to be tricky for Pikachu but was no match for Fletchling. The two-on-two battle concluded with Viola's Vivillon solarbeaming Fletchling. Viola wins. During the battle, however, Serena arrived to see Ash but he failed to notice her.

The sixth episode is the rematch episode. Serena revealed to Ash that both of them met at a summer camp in the Kanto region. Ash, however, does not remember her. Serena is disappointed but reassures Ash to focus on his rematch against Viola. Ash wins the Bug Badge as Fletching is revealed to know Steel Wing.

Episode seven focused on Serena as she accepts the invitation to join Ash, Bonnie and Clemont as they travel around Kalos. Serena's purpose for travel is unknown. The connection between Ash and Serena is pushed further as she recalls the first time meeting Ash in Kanto. Ash had helped wrap Serena's knee after she tripped due to a wild Poliwag popping out of a bush. The young Serena is surprised about the help. After Serena finished recalling the story, he finally remembered the first meeting and apologized for not remembering earlier.

The eighth episode saw the main characters meet a Furfrou and their many different hairstyles. It was a filler episode but featured a very intense battle between Team Rocket and the heroes.

The ninth episode featured Ash, Bonnie, Clemont, and Serena re-arriving to Lumiose City. Bonnie and Clemont are reunited with their father and it is revealed to Ash and Serena about Clemont's role as Lumiose City Gym Leader. Clemont is shown to own a Magnemite, Magneton and a Heliosk.

The 10th episode is set to debut on Dec. 12 featuring a Chespin. It is unknown if the Chespin will join the team and under who's ownership.
