Actress and philanthropist Eva Longoria will take her Global Gift Gala charity fundraiser to Dubai in December 14, to help raise funds for those in need and honor singer and "X Factor Australia" judge Ricky Martin, Gulf News reported. The event aims to raise awareness for children and the empowerment of women across the world and to celebrate those who support the cause.

The Gala will reportedly take place at Jumeriah Zabeel Saray on the Palm, where the former Desperate Housewives star is set to honor the "Living La Vida Loca" singer with the 'Global Gift Humanitarian' award for his work with children's charities.

"The Global Gift Foundation is really growing and so I'm delighted to be presenting the first Global Gift Gala here in Dubai, especially at the fantastic supperclub Dubai. We have had phenomenal success with our galas around the world and really hope to build on this with the support and generosity from everyone here, all of whom have been so welcoming," said the 38-year-old Mexican-American actress in a statement, according to Gulf News.

The beneficiary of the event will be Noor Dubai Foundation, which has partnered with Gala to  held the event in Dubai. The Eva Longoria Foundation and Sunrise K Foundation, that help women and children in need, will also receive founds.

Earlier this month, Longoria participated of the London leg of the gala, that was also attended by British star Victoria Beckham. On August, the actress travelled to Spain to host the Marbella edition of the charity ball, where she was joined by then-boyfriend Ernesto Argüello, charity ambassador Lizzie Cundy and Spanish actress María Bravo.

That same month, Longoria attended the benefit Global Gift Celebrity Golf Tournament, where she talked to the press and said that to help people you don't have to be rich and famous, according to La Prensa.

Longoria said she got her inspiration to participate in benefit events to help others from the women in her family. For the actress it's more reasonable to help in small ways, "to think what I can do right now, in my community and in my foundation," saying she stressed that people give up because they think they can't help everyone, so they end up helping no one.
