Rumors about Anderson Cooper being selected as Kelly Ripa's new co-host in "Live! With Kelly" started circling the internet after Kelly hinted that Cooper was the ideal person to fill in Regis Philbin's shoes.
Ripa recently told Us Weekly, her thoughts on Cooper saying, "We have a connection like nobody else. I worship him!"
Cooper however does have his own talk show and is already committed to CNN's 'Anderson Cooper 360' which is why he is not likely to replace Philbin.
Not only that, the magazine also cited Ripa saying, "The search continues," after having mentioned Cooper.
Other candidates that may be up for the seat include former football player Josh Groban, Seth Meyers, Nick Lachey and Jerry O'Connell.
Although Seth Meyers recently dispelled the rumors of being a front runner for the spot with, "I know [Regis' successor] is a very important thing down there...But right now, what I would say to you; I'm really in love with the job I have", who knows if his name will be announced on Tuesday, September 4th during the official announcement. In the end, his statements may be show biz.
